A lot of homeowners look at a patio covered in weeds, grime, and faded pavers and immediately start pricing out replacements. We get it - it looks rough. But nine times out of ten, the pavers themselves are completely fine. They just need the right treatment.
Here's what we were working with: weeds pushing up through every joint, years of dirt and biological buildup dulling the surface, and a fire pit surround that was barely recognizable under all the growth and grime. The kind of patio that nobody wants to spend time on. We see this all the time, and we know exactly what it takes to bring it back.
We started with a thorough pressure washing to strip away all the built-up dirt, moss, and debris. Once the surface was clean, we re-sanded the joints with polymeric sand - that's what locks everything in place and keeps weeds from coming back through the cracks. Then we finished with a paver sealer to protect the surface and bring out the natural color and texture of the stone. The difference between before and after that sealer goes down is night and day.
The fire pit got the same attention. What looked like a weathered, neglected block structure cleaned up into a sharp, well-defined focal point for the whole space. That's the thing about pavers - the material is built to last. It just needs someone who knows how to restore it properly.
Paver cleaning, polymeric sand re-sanding, and sealing are three separate steps that each do a specific job. Skipping any one of them shortchanges the result. We don't cut corners on the process, and that's why the finished product actually holds up.
